QUESTIONS ABOUT SCANNING?

Do you decide how my disks will be organized?
No, You decide how your photos or slides will be named and organized on disk. Some group their photos by year and others organize by people, place, and occasion.

When organizing your photos, slides, or negatives for an order, please sort them into groups. Each group will have it's own folder on disk and each scanning will be named according to the group it starts from.

Example: You have two groups of slides; one from 1990, and one from 1992. When scanned, your finished disk(s) would have two folders; one labeled "1990" and one folder labeled "1992". The scans inside these folders would be named accordingly. The 1992 slides naming convention is: name 1992_001.jpg, 1992_002.jpg, and so on. The slides from the 1990 group would be stored inside the 1990 folder and would be named: 1990_001.jpg 1990_002.jpg, 1990_003.jpg and so on.

How do I label my groups?
We need to know which photos belong to which group. If prints are scanned you could place all the photos from a group into an envelope and write the group name on the envelope. Slides you say? Rubber band each group together and insert a post it note under the rubber band.

What if I need images from each group scanned in order?
If you want to have the images in each group scanned in a specific order please, be sure and let us know. Please indicate the order the images are to be scanned in.  If it's prints that are being scanned in order, then place them in that order then label the back of each image with a 1, 2, 3, etc. If you have slides, please place them in the order they are to be scanned & label each slide with the number in which it should appear. Example: 1, 2, 3, etc. You can write the number on the corner of each slide mount with a pencil or pen if you have slides.
